The BBQ26SS is a premium Santa Maria grill engineered for grill enthusiasts who demand exceptional capacity, versatility, and authentic Argentine live-fire performance. Constructed entirely from 304 stainless steel, this professional-grade grill is built to deliver outstanding durability, precision, and years of wood and charcoal cooking.
With an impressive 2,600 sq. in. of total cooking area, the BBQ26SS features five dedicated cooking zones, including a height-adjustable main grate, secondary grate above the firebox, clamp grill, interchangeable griddle, and an upper warming (roofing) grill. This versatile configuration allows you to sear over intense heat, slow-roast larger cuts, prepare side dishes, and keep food warm—all at the same time while maintaining complete control over every stage of the cook.
Its integrated gaucho-style firebox (brasero) is designed to quickly ignite wood or charcoal while keeping the fire separate from the cooking area for greater control. Firebrick-lined walls and base maximize heat retention, promote even temperature distribution, and reduce heat transfer to the exterior, enhancing both cooking performance and long-term durability.
Thoughtfully equipped for convenience, the BBQ26SS includes a foldable side table, precision elevation system, heavy-duty 6" swivel casters, built-in bottle opener, and essential fire management tools including a shovel and poker. Every detail is designed to provide a seamless and enjoyable live-fire cooking experience.

FAQs

The BBQ26SS is basically the XL model of the BBQ06SS. From left to right, the grill is the same, the difference in on the depth of the grill.

The drain system helps water flow out of the grill when needed, preventing moisture from accumulating inside the firebox and around the firebricks. By allowing proper drainage, it reduces the risk of mold, mildew, and unwanted buildup that can develop when water is trapped for extended periods. This feature helps keep the interior cleaner, protects the integrity of the firebricks, and contributes to the long-term durability and performance of the grill, especially in outdoor environments exposed to rain, humidity, or frequent cleaning.

304 stainless steel is generally known for its corrosion resistance, but it is not entirely immune to rust. Exposure to certain conditions can still lead to rusting. Factors that may contribute to rust on 304 stainless steel include:
Chloride exposure: Salt and other chlorides may lead to pitting corrosion, especially in coastal or marine environments.
Harsh environments: Exposure to harsh chemicals, acids, or extreme environmental conditions may affect the material.
Scratches and surface damage: Scratches may expose the surface to corrosive elements.
Care Recommendations for 304 Stainless Steel
Clean periodically using mild detergents and a soft cloth or sponge.
Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals or acids, and clean the surface promptly if contact occurs.
Minimize chloride exposure, especially in coastal areas, by rinsing off salt deposits regularly.
When appropriate, use protective coatings suitable for stainless steel.
If rust becomes visible, possible removal methods include:
Mechanical cleaning using a nylon brush, abrasive pad, or sandpaper, always following the stainless steel grain.
Chemical cleaning using mild acids such as citric acid or vinegar, followed by thorough rinsing.
Commercial stainless steel cleaners intended for rust removal.
After rust removal, the stainless steel surface should be cleaned and passivated to help restore corrosion resistance. For all methods above, always consult a professional or qualified personnel to avoid damaging the product.

The fully assembled version comes crates, as it is said, fully assembled. The partially assembled version, the whole top area from the grill base, comes assembled. You would need to assemble the bottom cart, wheels and side table.

    Awesome BBQ!!!!

I've had my first weekend of cooks on this grill, and after 30+ years of BBQ, this is hands down the funnest experience. Tactile. Will be so much fun to fine tune my technique, but it's incredibly straightforward. Thanks Dagwood!!!

    Una Chulada!

The craftsmanship on this grill and the customer service is unmatched! If it wasn’t for Andy taking the time to help me learn about all the different grills and e-mailing me videos and info on all the different options, I would’ve likely gone with a cheaper grill.

This is so much more than just a grill. You can easily cook everything and anything you can think of. There is plenty of space to cook different meats and veggies and still allow for great temperature control on each. You can throw a couple cast iron pots and pans and make some empanadas, fry some fish, make a salsa and still have your nice cuts of meat cooking slowly over open fire. I’ve used it a few dozen times since purchase and there is still so much more to experiment with. Highly recommend this to anyone!

    I love my Tagwood BBQ26SS.

I purchased my Tagwood in December 2024. Since then I have used the grill on numerous occassions: a 21 lb. Turkey, a 17 lb. vacio, a whole pig, and beef ribs, sausages, chickens, pineapples and peppers. I do not consider myself skilled in Argentine style cooking over open fire by any means. However each of the above turned out perfectly delicious and was the star of the show according to my guests.

I am particularly impressed with the Gaucho grill. There is a distinct difference in the taste and texture of food cooked on the Gaucho grill... much different from that of meat that is smoked in American style stick burners and ceramic grills (I have cooked for years on both). Now, I rarely use them because I prefer the results I get with my Tagwood.

Though I am 79 years old, I feel like I am at the beginning of an exciting adventure as I become more familiar with my grill and the Argentine style of open fire cooking.

    So versatile

There is no better way to cook picanha than over coals/open fire. We are loving our Tagwood XL. This rig has plenty of space and different zones to cook a variety of items and lots of it. It’s great for entertaining, different from smoking, because everything is out on display with an amazing WOW factor.

This unit is a beast but still moves easily in the cart. Customer service is great and I love supporting a small, family-owned business.
